Happy New Year, all you freaks and weirdos!
In 2015, DeaFM Records released a double LP: “Then Again” the two-disc deluxe debut retrospective of The Rainbow’s Beard, two EPs: “Love In Veins“ by The Lone Sum and “Threedom“ by The Saturn III, along with a whole mess of covers by all three groups. If you haven’t heard any of that noise, navigate over to Bandcamp and dig them grooves, then share ‘em around.
We’re looking forward to another year, here at our desert HQ… Expect more from The Lone Sum, perhaps a return from The Dead Gear or the mysterious 45 Syndicate, and although rumor has it that The Saturn III may have finally been swallowed by that black hole they were exploring, we might just have a transmission from them to share here and there.
Stay tuned. Rave on.
Hope your holidays have been psychedelic. This year, we sidelined the norm to celebrate Saturnalia with The Saturn III. From the 17th of December, through the 23rd, we reveled in festivities with rad new releases, including limited edition physical copies of “Threedom“ - the trio’s burly 2015 EP - on BLUE compact disc, housed in a miniature gatefold sleeve. We followed that with a brand new shirt design to show praise for our favorite planet.
… And before the party could conclude, we just had to share the last of this year’s killer cover collection, The Saturn III’s stellar rendition of “What Planet Is This?“. Originally written by Yoko Kanno & Performed by The Seatbelts, this track is BIG and ends with a BANG (literally). If you haven’t heard it, do yourself a favor below, then snag a cool blue copy of “Threedom“, and order up a t-shirt and spread the word.
It’s been a solid year for DeaFM and The Saturn III. We’ll see you on the other side in 2016!
The Rainbow’s Beard’s video for “Ghoulish Dream, Beautiful Nightmare“ has reached 350 views on YouTube! To celebrate, we’ve added a wicked new Art Print/T-Shirt design by Wesley “Don’t. Ever. Stop.“ Griffith. Get yours now and don’t forget to order up some tunes while you’re at it!
The Lone Sum have recorded a raw rendition of “Looking At You“, originally written by garage godfathers, The MC5 and while it’s tough to get as gritty as the original, this version sure packs a wallop. Clocking in at just 2:22 and dialed up to “double-11s”, this track oughta’ have you singin’ along and pressin’ repeat ‘til the day is done.
... And if you’re the type to wear emotion on your sleeve or your favorite lo-fi Rock ‘n’ Rollers on your chest, we’ve added a fresh new t-shirt design to our merch store. It’s 11:11 on 11/11 and the Lone Sum is ”Still no.ONE”!
